Emily has been an active Unitarian Universalist for more than a decade. Before serving Allen Ave, Emily served as Director of Religious Education at First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church in Kennebunk, Maine for four years. Prior to moving to New England, Emily was a lay leader at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Little Rock, Arkansas where she was active in religious education, worship arts, and choir.

Known for her enthusiasm for the UU faith, Emily has attended workshops and conferences throughout the United States that have nourished and guided her as a leader in Unitarian Universalism. She is especially grateful for her time at the Dwight Brown Leadership Experience, the Southern Region’s highest level of leadership training. It was that experience that clarified her call to serve as a religious professional.

With an educational background in psychology and a life-long interest in spirituality and religion, Emily has always been interested in how each person’s unique journey affects their perspective and their relationships with others. She loves to craft opportunities for people of every age and stage to know each other better and, most of all, have fun!

Emily is a person with many interests and hobbies. Formerly a newspaper photographer, Emily loves photography and art in general. She and her family can be found going to the theatre, camping, kayaking, bodyboarding, hiking, fishing, and playing augmented reality games and tabletop games.

Emily lives in Old Orchard Beach with her 15 year old daughter Ella, who is a talented visual artist as well as her partner Stefani, who has a talent for finding a deal on anything.
