☎️☎️☎️UPDATE FROM AUGUSTA! The Maine House and Senate postponed a vote on LD 1317 to TODAY and TOMORROW (Tuesday, June 18 & Wednesday, June 19)

LD 1317 is a bill that would help more Maine immigrants access the food and housing supports they may need to get on their feet, INCLUDING asylum seekers like those who have arrived in Portland recently.

In the past week, our communities have come together in inspiring ways to support Maine immigrants. Donations, volunteers by the thousands, and messages of welcome have shown what our state is all about: neighbors helping neighbors. The state of Maine has an important role to play in these efforts and LD 1317 is a bill that would help our local communities meet the needs of our immigrant neighbors.
