iZosh is a non-profit organization whose name is an Amharic word meaning ‘compassionate support of a woman’. It meets twice a year and provides micro-loans to women in extreme poverty world wide. All expenses are covered by Tuttle Road United Methodist Church so all funds donated go directly to micro-loans during the evening meeting.
Each Event features a speaker who helps us learn more about conditions faced by women across the globe and provides an opportunity to pool our financial resources to fund micro-loans for women entrepreneurs. Along the way, there’s discussion, laughter, new friends and chocolate!
Our speaker on October 7 will be Abusana Micky Bondo, co-founder of “In Her Presence”, Portland’s support community for immigrant women. She will speak on Congolese women farmers and the challenges they face.
Women of all ages are invited to come to iZosh on October 7, 6:45 in Blueberry Commons, 3 Marion Way on the OceanView Falmouth campus.
There is no pressure to join or participate financially – just come, bring a friend and enjoy the evening.
