May this note find you cool and content somewhere on the other side of the heat wave. I have reached the end of the June UU marathon that included all-ages worship services, annual meeting, evaluations and reports of many kinds, UUMA Ministry Days and UUA General Assembly. Tomorrow I begin a month of vacation and study leave. I look forward to slow mornings with coffee and books and afternoons in my kayak. For study leave I’ll be working on a certificate course in Reflective Pastoral Supervision as well as prep and planning for the coming church year. I hope some time for rest and rejuvenation and learning finds its way into your life, too.
I will return to work for one week–August 12-16–then return to my normal full-time schedule on August 26th. I will be away from email fully while away, and will not read through my entire inbox upon my return. So if you have something you want to send, please set yourself a reminder to send it after August 12!
Sunday worship is in the hands of our church community this summer and then we kick off our 2025-26 program year with the Ingathering Water Communion service on September 7th. In the case of a pastoral emergency, you can contact Pastoral Care Committee co-chairs Barb Murray or Judith Moll who will get in touch with me directly via cell.
This year has been full of twists, turns, heartbreaks, and challenges. May the rhythms of summer be a balm to you so we can continue to agitate, resist, and center love in the months ahead.
In faith,
Rev. Tara (they/them)
