In this service, we will explore Thich Nhat Hanh’s teachings on gratitude and mindfulness by thinking about the “good news” in our lives. The participants will be given a piece of paper, like a mock news paper, to write up some good headlines that come directly from their own lived experience. We will then explore how keeping our “good news” in mind is a way to counter despair and anxiety in challenging times.
Chelsea Ray has been a student of different yoga traditions for more than 25 years and has studied mindfulness in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh for the past 13 years, including attending a weeklong retreat in Plum Village in France and at Blue Cliff Monastery in New York. She is currently a member of the Open Heart Sangha, a meditation group in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh.
This will be a single indoor service at 10 AM.
Masks are now optional, but recommended.
