Bearing Witness

Greetings, A2U2!

I hope you are well, healthy, and staying warm amidst this true Maine winter weather we are having. I’ve enjoyed the snow and have even gotten out on my XC skis a few times, but I don’t love the way it disrupts our scheduled times to be together in community.

It’s still too early to tell whether we’ll be able to gather in person on Sunday morning but we will keep you informed. IF we cancel in-person worship, WE WILL WORSHIP ON ZOOM! We’ll have an all-Zoom service led by our guest preacher CB Beal and me as Worship Associate (same link as usual) with breakout rooms for conversation about the service topic after. And we will have a fantastic ol’ time. So please keep that Sunday morning hour open on your calendar regardless of what the weather is doing.

CB is a UU religious educator, leadership consultant & coach, OWL trainer, facilitator, and more. They are wise, funny, and very relatable. Their message to share with us on Sunday is entitled “Bear Witness: Save Lives.”

Bearing witness to one another’s struggles, joys, and experiences… to what is happening in our communities… it is deeper and more transformative than just noticing or listening. How might the practice of witness allow us to respond open heartedly to what these times are asking of us?

Whether in person or on screen, I can’t wait to see you.

Take good care until then.

With love,

Rev. Tara
