Let Us Be A People of Resurrection… Who Rise Again and Again

A2U2 community-

Best wishes to you each as we begin April! And can you believe that we are just days from Easter? It snuck up on me this year as it’s both early in the month and spring’s unfolding is slow. But the season of renewal, rebirth, and resurrection comes around each year whether we’re ready or not.

As has become an annual invitation, please consider bringing flowers on Sunday morning to worship in honor of someone special in your life (still living or who has passed). And send their name along to me so I can include them in my pastoral prayer! You can drop flowers off on the Joys and Sorrows table right up until 10am and either bring them home after or leave them for me to gift to someone who could use some beauty.

After three wonderful weeks of collaborative services featuring reflections from A2U2 members, I return to preaching this Sunday in time for an Easter message. This year, “A Resurrection People.” We’ll reflect together on the Easter story as it is told in the Gospel of Mark… the one with the weird and totally unsatisfying ending. And we’ll consider together how we, as Unitarian Universalists, can be a resurrection people even in the face of this life that so often leaves us in terror, amazement, and with more questions than answers. No matter your relationship to this holiday, with open minds and hearts I believe every one of us can find inspiration in the message of this story.

Our young people will spend the full hour in RE and enjoy the annual can hunt after having a short discussion about food insecurity. We can have fun while doing the work of justice!

Let us be a people of resurrection… who rise again and again, choosing love at every turn.

In faith,

Rev. Tara
