Many members of the congregation have indicated a desire to resume the Program Council.  However, many have also recognized that these meetings were not quite as productive as we would want them to be.  Therefore, we are experimenting with a new concept, which we are calling the Community Council.

Definition:  The Community Council is comprised of church committee and interest group leaders, representatives of the Board of Trustees, staff, and a facilitator.  The purpose of the Community Council is to enhance collaboration and promote communication across all church programs and activities, and to think together about opportunities or challenges brought forth by members of the congregation or Board that may have broad implications for the church.  The Community Council will ensure that programs and activities support the goals and priorities of Allen Avenue UU. 

The Community Council meets throughout the church year to coordinate scheduling of major events, maintains the list of committees, interest groups, and contact persons and is responsible for sharing information with the greater congregation.  Meetings are open to all interested persons.

The first meeting will take place on Monday, November 19TH at 6:30 PMWe are inviting anyone who would like to attend, including chairpersons or representatives of all committees.  Come and see for yourself….please join us!
