First Parish invites all A2U2 folks concerned with racism in our country to attend this important event.

Rev. Dr. Thandeka will present a lecture entitled “Got Race? America’s Most Successful Ad Campaign” on Friday October 26th, from 7 PM to 9:45 PM at the First Parish UU Meeting House in Portland.

This lecture will track the hidden history of racial identity-formation and how whites and blacks were made in America. Be a part of the conversation which deeply explores race, white privilege, and calls us to answer Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s question, “Where do we go from here: Chaos or Community?” Thandeka is a theologian, professor, Unitarian Universalist minister, congregational consultant, and formerly an Emmy award-winning television producer.
