This week in worship, we wrap up a month-long exploration of the transformative power of Love. We began with Building the BeLOVEd Community on MLK Sunday and followed with Let Love Grow and Midwives of Love. We’ve reflected together on the role of accountability in our work of Love, the ways in which we can plant seeds and tend the soil for Love to grow in our communities, and the power of witnessing and courage as we usher Love into our world.
This week we’ll come full circle and return to our Unitarian Universalist call to be a justice-seeking people. One month ago marked the 50th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the landmark 7-2 decision protecting the right to bodily autonomy and choice.
As we are well aware, Roe was overturned this year by the conservative majority of the Supreme Court. The fundamental right to privacy, agency, bodily autonomy, and choice is on the line once again for people who are pregnant, for women, and for the LGBTQIA+ community.
What does the call of Love look like in a post-Roe world?
How has our UU faith prepared us to answer this call?
Join us as we dive into these questions – 10am in the sanctuary or on Zoom! All are welcome.
We’ll also be welcoming 5 new members and 2 new children to our A2U2 community. A joyous day! Please stay after service for a reception celebrating this growth and these fantastic 7 souls.
As always, don’t hesitate to reach out if you could use support. You are why I am here.
With Love,
Rev. Tara
